Otro viento cantará album launches June 1st
Introduction:
I am proud to announce the highly anticipated release of my latest album, "Otro Viento Cantará," on June 1st. This cantata delves into the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, captivating audiences with its profound exploration of the question posed by its co-creator, poet Verónica Zondek: "Are humans strangers to the world or an integral part of it?"
A Powerful Collaborative Effort:
Commissioned in 2022 by the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation for the "Puedes Cantar" school music program, this deep and expressive 50-minute work involves two university choirs, over 300 talented children, a Latin American ensemble, and a captivating local soprano soloist. "Otro Viento Cantará" had its stunning world premiere last September at the renowned Teatro del Lago, enchanting a crowd of 1,200 with its powerful melodies and poignant themes.
The album features a second production of the piece, recorded in December 2022 at various theaters in the Los Lagos region. It brought together the combined talents of the Austral University of Chile, the University of Los Lagos, and the participation of nine primary school choirs from the picturesque southern Chile. This collaboration showcases the breadth of talent and community spirit fostered by the project.
